Gas tax helpful for New Jersey

| 27 Feb 2017 | 05:10

William Gettler faults state Sen. Oroho for voting for the new gasoline tax. Bill, do you live in a cave? Our New Jersey roads and bridges are in disrepair is a fact. Take a look at the raildorad bridge on Route 23 in Hamburg. Almost all state highways need repair and the gas tax now is being replenished by the new income. Train bridges crossing the Passaic and Hackensack rivers need replacement. Trains travel at a slow speed because of their age and would fall into the rivers at normal speed. N.J. Transit is now getting 722 new buses as well as private bus companies. I'm on a fixed income and retired, but gladly pay for the tax on gas for safety of all who travel our roads and use mass transit. Stop drinking the water.
