Family Partners has volutneer opportunities

NEWTON — Family Partners of Morris & Sussex Counties FSO is seeking volunteers with a variety of skills to assist in our organization in different capacities. Party planners wanted to assist in decorating, organizing activities, maintaining food stations and monitoring registration tables.
Do you have a creative flair? Window decorators wanted! Give our storefront window a monthly facelift to reflect specific themes and seasons. Are you more of a technical guru? Help us go green! We are seeking a few tech-savvy, energized teens or young adults who can help to maintain our website, build up our social media, post events online and assemble information packets. Are you a natural at networking? Do you like to help families get the support they need? Become a Support Group Facilitator! Host one of our many monthly support groups; training will be provided for the right candidates.
The mission of our organization is to facilitate the empowerment of parents and caregivers through a community-based, family-centered, culturally competent system of support, education and advocacy. We host free monthly workshops open to parents, educators and other professionals on a variety of topics centering on the unique challenges experienced by individuals involved in raising children with special needs.
In addition to workshops, Family Partners offers several monthly peer support groups for parents and caregivers.
Youth Partnership/Peer Networking & Leadership Group is for teens and young adults 13 through 21 years of age. Our “warm line,” which can be reached at 973-940-3194, is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and offers support, information and referrals to parents and other caretakers experiencing challenges with their children.
