The Vernon Chamber of Commerce invites local businesses to join the next Member’s Meeting on Wednesday, March 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the Vernon Municipal Building in the Senior Center.
This month’s featured guest speaker will be Mishelle Downtain, who currently serves as Vernon Township’s Recreation Project Coordinator.
Mishelle was responsible for creating the highly successful 2016 Trails of Vernon Challenge and Photo Contest. Back for 2017 due to popular demand, Mishelle is enhancing the self-guided challenge that will run between July and November. Research shows that spending time outdoors is beneficial to our overall health and this is a great way to be outdoors and be active while getting to know Vernon’s natural treasures. The program includes the opportunity to set personal goals, track progress and motivational incentives are being developed with partnering businesses.
The official kickoff date for the Trails of Vernon Challenge will coincide with National Trails Day on June 3. Be sure to check out information on the following link for more information-http://nationaltrailsday.americanhiking.org/.
Come learn more about this opportunity to involve your business with the 2017 Vernon Township Trails of Vernon Program on March 22 and how the recreation department is encouraging residents to take advantage of the amazing wonders in our own back yard! Light refreshments will be available. RSVP at info@vernonchamber.com.
