The Vernon Township Historical Society’s popular program, Those were the Days, will feature “Vernon Then and Now” on March 19 at the Vernon Senior Center from 1-4 p.m.
Historian Ron Dupont Jr. will show a slide presentation and talk about what the township looked like in decades past and compare it to Vernon today. The public will have the opportunity to share their experiences and knowledge of the township in yesteryear. The public is also invited to bring vintage photographs or artifacts to show and discuss during the program.
The presentation is free and open to the public of all ages. Refreshments will be served.
Those Were the Days is one of the society’s most popular series. Past presentations featured the township’s emergency services, historic homes, district schools, lake communities, and all about life in Vernon yesterday and today.
The senior center is located at 21 Church Street, Vernon, NJ. For more information, call 973-764-6545.
