Dance Expression performers win awards

Dance Expression Dance Arts won the Studio Excellence for Jazz Award at the Starstruck Dance Competition in Sparta on March 10-12.
The dancers also won the Starstruck Cup, overall high score awards, entertainment awards, and special performance awards.
In the Advanced Division, Saturday Night Fever won the first overall high score and the Superior Award for Musical Theatre production in the Adv. Lines/Production. Celebrate won the Superior Award in the Teen Tapo Line, and second overall high score for 13-and-older large groups. World to come won the Superior Award in the Small Group Senior Modern and second overall high score for the 13-and-older small groups, Photographers Dream Special Award. Moulin Rouge won the Entertainment award in the Teen Musical Theatre Line.
In the primary division, Formation won the Starstruck Cup Award for firs toverall for all primary groups 12-and-younger division. The team also won the Top Eliite and "Work It" Special Award and first overall for all Jr. Primary Large Groups. Trish Trash Polka won Top Elite Award in Junior Small Group Ballet and first overall for all Junior Primary Small Groups. Turn the Beat around won the Top Elite Award and first overall for all Junior Primary Lines. Gettin' Jiggy With It won the Petite Large Group Hip Hop Top Elite Award and first overall for Petite Primary Large Groups and the Will Smith Special Award. Colors of the Wind won the Petite Small Group Modern Top Elite award and second overall for All Petite Primary Small Groups.
In the solos, duet and trio categories, If My Friends Could See Me Now by Alexa Gutt of Hardyston won the Jnior Advanced Solo Superior Award and overall high schore for advanced junior solos. She also won Miss Jr. Starstruck. Erin King and Julia Paton of Vernon (Fabulous Places) won the Petite Primary Duet Top Elite Award and first overall high score for all Petite Primary duet/trios and the Special Connection Special Award. Alyssa Cohan of Hardyston (Life of the Party) won the Teen Primary Solo Top Elite Award and first overall high score for all teen porimary solos. Kristina Henderson of Wantage and Jillian Henderson of Sparta (Lost) won the Senior Advanced Duet/Trios Superior Award and second overall high score for all advanced senior duet/trios. Kristin Winkler of Harydston and Julia Young of Sparta (Heart Cry) won the Superior Award for Teen Advanced Duet/Trios and the second overall high score for all Advanced Teen Duet/trios.
Young won the Impact Performer Award, the Super Sass and Intensity awards. Leah Reinstein of Wantage won the Breath of Fresh Air Award.
