Thomas Richard Partin, 78 years old, passed away after a brief illness, on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Born to Harold and Rosanna Partin in the Bronx, N.Y., where he lived until moving to Vernon Twp., N.J., in 1977 and then to Sparta in 2017.
Thomas served with the United States Army and then worked as a bus driver for Carey Transportation in Manhattan, N.Y., for 25 years retiring in 1986 and he then worked as the Chief Weighmaster at the Sussex County Municipal Utilities Authority in Lafayette, N.J., retiring in 2008. He was a dedicated family man, enjoyed spending time with family; especially taking his grandchildren for vacation to Chincoteague Island, Va.
Thomas is predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Lynn Partin (2008) and a brother, Robert Partin (2009) and is the beloved husband for 45 years of Vivian M. Partin (nee Harms) of Sparta, N.J. Devoted father of Darlene S. Ferraro and her husband, Nicholas, of Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J., Thomas R. Partin of West Orange, N.J. and Keith W. Partin and his wife, Bethany of Sparta, N.J. Loving grandfather of Nicholas, Ashley Nicole, Lucy, Race and Cade. Dear brother of Harold “Danny” Partin of Ocala, FL. Cherished by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, N.J. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Monday, March 27, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. Francis deSales RC Church, Vernon Twp., NJ at 10 a.m. Cremation is private.
