Sussex Miners plan golf outing

Play 18 holes with the Sussex County Miners and support a great cause. The Miners announced that they will host their first annual Miners Charity Golf Outing on Monday, April 24, at Crystal Springs Resort’s Wild Turkey. A portion of the proceeds from the outing will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Greater Sussex County.
Miners Manager and former New York Met Bobby Jones invites fans to hit the links with him and several Miners players at one of the top public golf courses in New Jersey, all while supporting Relay for Life, the signature fundraising event for the American Cancer Society.
“We’re excited to get the opportunity to be in the community and show a different side of the Miners,” said Jones. “To be able to team up with Relay for Life is terrific. This will really be a great event for a great cause.”
Throughout the event, golfers can compete in a variety of fun games and contests – including a 50/50 raffle, closest-to-the-pin and longest drive – for chances to win great prizes, such as a free one-month membership to Crystal Springs Resort’s Wild Turkey, an overnight stay at Crystal Springs Resort’s Grand Cascades Lodge, Miners apparel and tickets, and gift cards. All contests will take place on the course at designated holes.
In addition, the Miners will hold a Hole-In-One Contest, presented by Advantage Promotions. The first golfer to hit a hole-in-one on Hole 16 will win a grand prize of $10,000. Golfers can win other prizes for hitting a hole-in-one at other select holes on the course. Prizes will vary from hole-to-hole.
Golfers can register and purchase tickets online at sussexcountyminers.com. The cost to participate in this fun and exciting golf outing is only $175 per player (tax and gratuity are included). Golfers can save $25 by signing up as a foursome. Registration includes 18 holes of golf, including a cart, unlimited driving range balls, continental breakfast and a barbecue luncheon.
As an added bonus, the first 80 paid participants will receive free tickets to the Miners’ “Paint The Park Purple” game on July 8 against the Rockland Boulders. They will also get the chance to stand on the field as the Miners present American Cancer Society with a check for the funds raised during the Miners Charity Golf Outing.
“We look forward to a beautiful day, both in April with the golf outing and in July at ‘Paint The Park Purple,'” said Jones. “It’s exciting to celebrate the American Cancer Society and help out their cause throughout the year.”
The Miners Charity Golf Outing will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m., followed by the complimentary continental breakfast at 8 a.m. Participants will then tee off promptly at 9 a.m. for a shotgun start at their assigned holes.
