Kevin J. Whitehead, 39, died on Wednesday April 5, 2017. Kevin was born on Jan. 20, 1978, in Saddle Brook, N.J., to Robert and Joanne L. (nee Powers) Whitehead. Kevin was a longtime resident of Vernon Township.
Kevin owned and operated Outkast Sports in Vernon for 9 years. He was a National Champion of Snowboarding. He started snowboarding in Vernon at a young age and became worldly renown in the sport. He was also an avid Yankee fan.
Kevin was predeceased by his mother Joanne L. Whitehead.
Kevin is survived by his children. Madison and Drew Whitehead of Vernon, his father, Robert Whitehead of Morris Plains, and his brother, Michael Whitehead of Vernon, his paternal grandmother, Eileen Whitehead of Spring Hill, FL, his uncles, Scott Whitehead of Long Branch, NJ, and Dr. Richard Powers of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and his former wife, Kelly (nee Shaw) Whitehead.
Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday April 9th from 1-4PM at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94, Vernon, NJ (GPS use 1 Vanderhoof Court), and are invited for graveside services on Monday April 10th at 11AM at the Glenwood Cemetery, Rt. 517, Glenwood, NJ (Vernon Township).
