    March 10Edward Friedman, 61, of Montague was sentenced to three years’ probation, limited internet usage, no contact with minors, forfeiture of his Firearms Purchaser Identification Card and transfer or sale of any weapons plus fines and fees. Friedman was given 4 days jail credit.
    Friedman was arrested on June 3, 2016, after an investigation by the New Jersey State Police Digital Technology Investigation Unit and Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office revealed that electronic devices in his residence were identified as possessing images of Child Pornography.  The Defendant was arrested as part of Operation Statewide, an investigation focused on persons who possess and distribute images of Child Pornography in New Jersey.
    Edward Friedman pleaded guilty on Jan. 18, 2017, to possession of child pornography (a third-degree crime).
    March 17Matthew Lubrano, 26, of Sparta was sentenced to three years of probation. Lubrano was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $2,100 and mandatory fines and fees.
    Lubrano pleaded guilty on Feb. 14, to fraudulent use of a credit card, a third-degree crime.
    On May 3, 2016, Lubrano was arrested for theft after taking his girlfriend’s bank card to make ATM withdrawals from her bank account without her permission.
    March 22Tyler Demouth, 20, of Hopatcong, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance and shoplifting, both crimes of the third degree.  He also pled guilty to fourth degree Resisting Arrest and Obstruction.  Sentencing is presently scheduled for April 21, 2017.
    The defendant admitted that in July of 2016 he took various video games, valued over $500, from the Franklin Walmart without paying for them. In a separate incident in August of 2016, Demouth admitted that when Rockaway Township Police tried to serve an arrest warrant on him at his Hopatcong home, he jumped out of a window and ran. With the assistance of Hopatcong Police, the defendant was apprehended a short time later. Finally, in September of 2016 Hopatcong Police responded to a report of yelling and screaming involving the defendant and a co-defendant. Demouth admitted that he was in possession of Heroin at that time.
    Brianne Lutz, 34, of Newton pleaded guilty to third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, third-degree receiving stolen property, fourth-degree receiving stolen property. 
    Sentencing is presently scheduled for April 19.
    The defendant admitted that in May of 2016 she was in receipt of various items taken in home burglaries in Green and Fredon by a co-defendant. She also admitted that in January when she was a passenger involved in a motor vehicle stop by Sparta Police she was in possession of heroin.
    March 23Mario Giorgi, 51, of Kintersville, Pa., was sentenced to four years of probation and ordered to complete 60 days in the Sheriff's Labor Assistance Program, submit a DNA sample at his own expense, complete 400 hours of community service, make restitution totaling $6,954.32 and pay fines and fees totaling $2,855.
    He pled guilty on Jan. 4 to burglary, a third-degree crime, theft, a third-degree crime, and criminal mischief, a fourth-degree crime.
    On Feb. 17, 2013, the defendant entered the Lafayette Mills Antique Center in Lafayette Township, stole various antique items, and caused damage to the property while doing so.
    March 24George Decker, 27, of Newton was sentenced dto 90 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility with credit for 64 days served and concurrent with three years of probation. He was ordered to participate in Capitol Care, submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, submit a DNA sample at his own expense, make restitution of $3,045, and pay fines and fees totaling $155.
    He pleaded guilty on Feb. 1 to theft, a third-degree crime, and violation of probation.
    The defendant took jewelry, a computer, and a rock collection from an individual in Andover Township in November of 2015.
    March 27Ronald L. Ehrman, 33, of Sussex pleaded guilty to third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
    Sentencing is scheduled for May 26.
    The defendant admitted that he was in possession of Heroin when he was stopped by New Jersey state police.
    March 30Jason Kiss, 46, of Hamburg pleaded guilty to one count of terroristic threats, a third-degree offense, and one count of resisting arrest, a fourth-degree offense.
    Sentencing is presently anticipated for May 12.
