Sixties sensation Gary Puckett & The Union Gap will bring their hit songs to The Newton Theatre on Saturday, July 15, at 8 p.m.
Gary Puckett and the Union Gap was one of the most successful musical groups of the 1960s, when they achieved worldwide prominence. Gary's unmistakable voice garnered six consecutive gold records and top ten Billboard hits. Signature hits include Young Girl, Woman Woman, Over You and Lady Willpower.
Gary Puckett and The Union Gap’s success is stunning. They sold more records in 1968 than any other recording act, including The Beatles. Gary is one of a few artists whose first five releases went gold; an accomplishment not even Elvis can claim. He played a command performance at the White House for Prince Charles and Princess Anne by special invitation of the President.
Their hit single Young Girl was reissued by popular request in England where it reached number one and achieved a Silver Record Award for the second time, a full six years after the song was initially released. Gary Puckett and The Union Gap's "Greatest Hits" album is one of CBS's best selling "Collector's Series" albums today.
Over the years Gary has made more than fifty television appearances and he continues to perform to sold out crowds every year.
Tickets for Gary Puckett & The Union Gap range from $34 to $49. Purchase tickets by visiting www.thenewtontheatre.com or contact the Box Office at 973-383-3700.
