Walter O. Havens Jr.

Walter O. Havens Jr., 85, passed away on Friday, Feb. 3, 2017. He was born in Sussex, N.J. on Nov. 28, 1931, to the late Walter O. Sr. and Bessie (nee Clark) Havens.
Walter was a fifth generation dairy farmer in Wantage. In 1965 he attended Cornell University, where he took a course in Artificial Insemination, and was self-employed as an Artificial Inseminator for more than 50 years. His greatest love was for his family, animals and travel. He was happiest, being home, doing things around the farm surrounded by family and friends.
Walter was predeceased by his son, Walter O. Havens III (Wally), and brothers Robert and Henry Zeeuw.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy (nee Hosking) Havens and his children, Tammy Havens of Sussex, Linda Havens-Mayer and her husband Charles Mayer of Yardley, Pa., Sherry Havens — Triano and her husband Robert Triano of Highland Lakes, Dr. Wade Havens, and his wife Dr. Jean Loveland of Hamburg, Pa., and his two grandchildren, Bryn Havens and Will Havens, his siblings, Marie Havens and Doug Havens of Sussex, and Beverly Hawk of Pittsburgh, Pa., along with many nieces and nephews.
Private burial services were held for the immediate family at Clove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of his Life service April 22 at 2 p.m. at Sussex United Methodist Church 15 Bank Street, Sussex, N.J.
