Center plans conference on marijuana

    The Center for Prevention and Counseling is hosting a conference on May 3, at Perona Farms, Andover, entitled Marijuana: Potency, Policy & Public Impact.
    Renowned national speakers presenting at this May 3rd conference include Kevin Sabet, PhD and Frank L. Greenagel Jr., MPAP, MSW, LCSW, LCADC, ICADC, ACSW, CJC, CCS who both agree that, “from an economic perspective, “marijuana legalization is revenue negative.”
    Kevin Wong from Colorado’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area will bring data from the Denver area to share with Sussex County public health experts, parents, all community members and stakeholders. Bonnie Nolan, PhD, Neuroscience, Rutgers University will present on the impact of marijuana on the adolescent brain as evidenced through research, explaining the deleterious effects.
    The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., is $60 and includes breakfast, lunch, exhibits from treatment providers as well as free resources.
