Vernon Historical Society plans photo exhibit

    The Vernon Township Historical Society is seeking photographs from amateur and professional photographers for an exhibit May 6 and 7.
    Photographers may submit their works on April 29 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Historical Society Museum at 293 Route 94, Vernon, or by making special arrangements for delivery. For information on submitting photographs, call 973-764-6545. Submissions are free of charge. Deadline for submission is May 3.
    The photography exhibit is sponsored by the Society and by the Vernon Township High School photography department. Student works will also be on display. The exhibit will be held at the Vernon Senior Citizens Center from 5-9 p.m. on May 6, and from 1-4 on May 6. On May 6, there will be a reception and music from a chamber orchestra from 2-4 p.m.
    Photographs for submission can include any subject matter such as landscape, architecture, portrait, or fine art photography. Photographs must be a minimum of 8 X 10 inches in size and must be mounted. They should not be framed. Photographers may submit up to five photographs each. Photographs may be black and white, color, hand-colored, digital, or chemical. All submissions are free of charge. Ribbons will be awarded for noteworthy photographs.
    The Vernon Township Historical Society is a non-profit organization that raises funds for its various presentations and programs that are free to the public, scholarships, hands-on workshops, summer camps, and other events.
