Celebrate Dylan at Warwick Valley Winery's Dylan Festival

WARWICK — Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery will host its annual Bob Dylan tribute festival May 27, 28 and 29.
This year marks the 21 year the Warwick Valley Winery has had its Dylan Festival. The festival is a continuation of the Winery’s ongoing music series and is the first festival of the summer season.
The event will be held from 12 to 5 p.m. on the winery’s outdoor stage. Performers will be playing a mix of Dylan songs, paying homage to Dylan’s timeless music. Attendees will see great local musicians as well as national recording artists all playing at one of the Hudson Valley's prettiest music venues.
The music of Bob Dylan is a diverse blend of styles, encompassing genres from gospel, to folk, to rock and country. The lineup of musicians playing at this festival attempts to reflect that diversity.
SaturdayThe festival kicks off with Easy Chair followed by Dead on the Tracks. The afternoon lineup features local rockers Uncle Shoehorn and legendary bluesman Bill Sims, Jr. Sims' album "Bill on Bob" is a blues musician’s interpretation of Dylan’s hits.
Concluding the day’s festivities is Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams. Campbell is a Grammy-award winning musician who toured with Dylan and his “Never Ending Tour” from 1997 to 2004. Additionally, Campbell and Williams were regular performers at Levon Helm’s Midnight Rambles. The duo is sure to play some beautiful versions of Dylan classics.
SundaySunday opens with Rob Schiff and the ever-energetic E’lissa Jones Band. Dylan festival veteran and folk rocker Rod Macdonald is up next, followed by The Kennedys.
The Kennedys always put on a great show and their ability to collaborate makes the Dylan festival a unique event.
Concluding the day is Arlen Roth and his band. Roth is a master of the Telecaster and has played with many legendary musicians including Dylan, the Bee Gees, Simon and Garfunkel and others.
MondayMonday’s lineup begins with Evan Teatum and is followed by longtime Dylan band mate Rob Stoner. Stoner, a Rockland-based musicians, was Dylan’s band leader during the 1970s Rolling Thunder tour.
Pete and Maura Kennedy are back on Monday and are followed by Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Steve Forbert.
Wine tastings, hard cider, Sangria as well as specialty Dylan-themed cocktails will be available all weekend at the winery.
The Winery Café and outdoor grill will also be available. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets.
Outside food and beverages are strictly prohibited.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
