ZDC dancers attend On Point competition

VERNON — Ziegler Dance Centre dancers recently attended On Point National Dance Competition.
The dancers dazzled the judges and were awarded many awards. It was a “Divisional Sweep” winning 28 overalls in the top 10 placements and 21 first in the category in all age division 7 to 18.
ZDC was awarded 10 of the highest score of the competition in the Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop category in the junior, teen, and senior divisions. Senior lyrical small group “Support Group” performed by: Shannon Gambuti, Vernon, Cynthia Huhn, Vernon, Ana Oyola, Vernon, Christine Papa, Frankford, Chassidy Pappas, Vernon, Alexa Perrotta, Vernon, Mackenzie Skounakis, Vernon, and Meghan Waltner, Sussex, were awarded the highest technique score out of all13 and older dances and “Best Choreography” awarded to Renee Ziegler Schmidt. Junior jazz small group “Albatroz” performed by: Natalia Arroyo, Vernon, Ava Berner, Hardyston, Sydney Bosma, Vernon, Makayla Snyder, Franklin, and Sophia VanLueven, Vernon, were award the highest technique score and the “On Point” award, which is the highest score of all 12 and under dances.
Petite small group tap “Bugle Boy” performed by: Emma Casper, Kaine Doyle, Kayleigh Doyle, Ava Pecoraro, Molly Sokolewicz, Alondra Sybesma, Brooklynn Sybesma, all of Vernon, and Abigail Pisciottano of Sparta won “Most Entertaining” for the 12 and under division.
