The Vernon Township High School Athletic Dept. honored its outstanding athletes for Week 6 of the spring 2017 season.
Senior Brianna White of the Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team had a “Senior Night” Game to remember against Warwick scoring two goals in the first half and three in the second half including the tying and winning goals to lead the Vikings to a come-from-behind win.
She then scored three goals against Millburn to give her nine on the week. According to Coach Carlson, Brianna has consistently been one of the hardest workers on the field all season.
Senior Pole-Vaulter Trevor Hazell is a two-time NJAC (Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference) Champion. Unfortunately, Trevor came down with Mono at the beginning of the spring limiting his participation this track season. In his first meet back at the NJAC Small School Division Championships, he won the pole-vault event with a jump of 12 feet.
Coach Saganiec and McCarthy are amazed at how he was able to come back from an illness and perform at this high level. It is a credit to his hard work and dedication.
