VTHS honors outstanding athletes

VERNON — The Vernon Township High School athletic department honored its outstanding athletes of the spring 2017 season.
Senior Kaitlyn Ambrose tied for 2nd place in both the Sussex Invitational and HWS (Hunterdon Warren Sussex) championships in the High Jump. According to Coach Ferguson, Kaitlyn is a very consistent and determined athlete. She demonstrates excellent leadership skills and participates in many extra-curricular activities. She is a great role model for the younger student-athletes.
Junior Cole Genneken scored 13 goals and had 6 assists last week for the Boys Lacrosse Team in their three wins last week including a big conference win over Randolph. Cole is a two-year starter and was recently named a First Team selection for the Curcio and NJAC Divisions. According to Assistant Coach Coleman, Cole is an extremely dedicated and hardworking student-athlete.
