    May 25Sean Hannigan, 22, of Kinnelon was found not guilty of aggravated assault and guilty of the lesser included offense of simple assault.
    Sentencing is scheduled for July 14.
    May 26Patrick Shevlin, 27, of Montague was sentenced to three years of probation and 60 days in the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program with credit for 13 days served. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made, submit to drug monitoring, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,155.  
    He pleaded guilty on April 10, 2017, to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime. 
    The defendant was in possession of 50 wax folds of heroin in Montague on Sept. 20, 2016. 
    Frank Mondella, 32, of Sussex was sentenced to a mandatory 180 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility. He must also submit a DNA sample and pay $155 in court fines and fees.  
    He pleaded guilty on April 10, to driving while suspended for a second or subsequent DWI. 
    During a motor vehicle stop by Hardyston Police, Mondella was found to be driving while his license was suspended for a second or subsequent DWI.
    Dallas Kruzelnick, 32, of Wantage was sentenced to five years CSIP probation. He must also undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, enter and successfully complete an inpatient substance abuse program, undergo random drug monitoring, obtain and maintain employment and pay $5,210 in court fines. 
    He pleaded guilty on March 10, 2017, to four counts of third-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and motor vehicle violation Driving while Under the Influence, second offense. 
    He was sentenced that same day for the motor vehicle violation DWI to a 9-month license suspension and $914 in fines. 
    In February of 2016, the defendant was in possession of heroin and cocaine when New Jersey State Police responded to a report of an unconscious male sitting in his car in the roadway. Kruzelnick had to be shaken awake by EMTs before Troopers arrived.
    In a separate incident in November of 2016 the defendant was in possession of heroin and cocaine when pulled over by Sparta Police for swerving into another lane while driving.
    May 30Kori Bodle, 27, of Ogdensburg pleaded guilty to theft by deception, a third-degree crime, and failure to turn over a controlled dangerous subsgtance, a disorderly persons offense.
    Sentencing is scheduled for June 14.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to cashing checks in an amount greater than $500, knowing that the checks were not good and negotiable.
    The case was investigated by Ptl. Geene of the Ogdensburg Police Department.
    Shaun Smith, 23, of Paterson pleaded guilty to shoplifting, a third-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for July 7.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking a shopping cart full of electronic items valued at more than $500 from Franklin Walmart on Aug. 17, 2016. 
    The case was investigated by Patrolman Daniel Flora of the Franklin Borough Police Department.
    David L. Brunt, 28, of Andover pleaded guilty to driving while suspended for a second or subsequent driving while intoxicated, a crime of the fourth degree and motor vehicle violation Driving while Under the Influence, fourth offense.  
    Sentencing is presently scheduled for June 9, 2017.
    The defendant admitted he had been driving while his license was suspended for a second or subsequent DWI when he was found by New Jersey State Police, who were responding to a suspicious vehicle parked in the Quick Chek in Wantage.
    May 31Daniel R. Ziolkowski, 54, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., was convicted on May 31, 2017, by a jury of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, a third-degree crime, unlawful possession of a weapon, a fourth-degree crime, criminal mischief, a fourth-degree crime, and two counts of harassment, a petty disorderly persons offense.
    On Dec. 24, 2014, Ziolkowski was operating his motor vehicle in a westerly direction on Layton Road (County Route 560) in Sandyston Township. On two occasions, Ziolkowski “brake-checked” the car following to his rear, coming to a complete stop in front of the following car after the second occasion.  Ziolkowski then exited his vehicle and while brandishing a knife approached the following vehicle yelling and screaming at the driver. While continuing to yell and scream at the driver, Ziolkowski caused damage to the driver’s door with his lower body and caused further damage by using the knife to stab the windshield and to slash and flatten the left front tire.  Ziolkowski then re-entered his vehicle and fled from the scene. 
    The case was investigated by members of the New Jersey State Police with assistance from Pennsylvania State Police with follow-up investigation by detectives of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.
