Westys gymnasts competed at the USAIGC Regional Championship over Memorial Day weekend against gymnasts from all over New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
Among all the great scores the Westys’ gymnasts put up were not one, not two, but three scores which earned them Regional Champion Titles!
Lexi Ingoglia, age 9, from Lake Hopatcong placed top five in all four events in her 31-girl age division. Her vault score 8.875 earned her second place, her bars score 8.025 earned her fourth place, her beam score 9.200 earned her fourth place, her floor score 9.300 earned her fifth place and her all around score, an impressive 35.400 out of a perfect 40.000, earned her first place awarding her the title of 9-year-old Bronze Level All Around Regional Champion!
Samie Copley, age 11, from Vernon placed top 6 in all of her events and earned herself not one but two Regional Champion Titles. Samie’s vault score 8.700 earned her fourth place, her bars score 7.925 earned her sixth place, her beam score 8.850 earned her sixth place, her floor score 9.425 earned her first place and the Title of 11-year-old Bronze level floor champion and her amazing all around score 34.900 out of a perfect 40.000, earned her first place and another title, the 11-year-old Bronze level all-around champion.
It is a huge accomplishment for any gym to be home to one Regional Champion in any season, but it is almost unheard of to be the home of three regional Champion Titles in one season!
Westys Gymnastics is so incredibly proud of both Samie and Lexi and all of the hard work they put in during the season to earn them these titles.
