VTHS students donate change to dedicate tree

VERNON — Students at Vernon Township High School wanted to commemorate a tree in memory of Mrs. Barbara Etzel, a substitute teacher of more than 15 years who died after a very brief illness after Spring Break.
So they donated their pocket change in the school’s cafeteria and planted a willow tree. The plaque, when it arrives, will read “She loved them all.”
