Volunteers clear a trail

VERNON — About 50 volunteers participated in Build the Trails Day on June 18.
According to Mike Furrey, the group cleared about a half-mile of trail and girl scouts added several signs and 20 birdhouses. Help also was provided by Countryside Landscaping, Daily Bean donated coffee and Suez donated four cases of water. The path was cleared at the intersection of Drew Road and Sandhill Road.
