On Saturday, Aug. 5, beginning at 2 p.m., the Vernon Valley Karate Academy will be sponsoring a Women’s Self-Defense Seminar. This one-day program will be free to all graduating female High School Students and all female students who will be going off to college in the fall.

All other interested participants will be asked to donate $10. These donations will be raffled off to one of the college bound participants as a scholarship. This program will be held at a convenient location in Vernon that will be announced.

The focus of the seminar will be safety/surrounding awareness, strategies to avoid attack, and techniques that can be used to break away from an attack when necessary.

The seminar will be taught by Sensei Tom Shull and other male and female Black Belt Instructors from the Vernon Valley Karate Academy.
