WANTAGE — The ground has been broken for the latest improvement at Woodbourne Park in Wantage Township.
Construction has begun on a 35-foot by 65-foot pavilion that will capture the country charm of Sussex County.
Inspired by community service and paying it forward, the Lange family of Wantage designed and donated the building to the residents of Wantage. They have partnered with Wantage Excavating, Stevens Concrete Service, Sargent Electric, Lockburner Construction and Morton Buildings to construct the building. Donations by Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative and the hard work of Wantage Department of Public Works will help to complete the project.
“This impressive undertaking will be a great addition to the community and the park,” said Wantage Mayor Jon Morris.
The pavilion is expected to be completed by the end of August and ready for the upcoming Fall events.
“We now have an impressive center stage for all our events,” said President of Wantage Parks and Recreation, Greg Williams.
The Lange family and all those involved are very excited about this project. This new structure, which has become a tribute to the farming heritage of Wantage, will not only add to the park but give township officials the ability to expand events and introduce new ones for the benefit and enjoyment of the community.
