    July 7Shaun Smith, 23, of Paterson was sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison concurrent with sentences in Passaic and Bergen Counties and given credit for gap time of 182 days. He was ordered to submit a DNA sample at his own expense and pay fines and fees totaling $155.  
    He pleaded guilty on May 30, 2017, to Shoplifting, a third degree crime.
    The defendant took a shopping cart full of electronic items valued at more than $500 from Franklin Walmart on Aug. 17, 2016.
    Brandon Wagner, 28, of Franklin was sentenced to five years of probation. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, continue with and complete his intensive outpatient program, attend AA/NA meetings twice per week, submit to random urine monitoring, submit a DNA sample at his own expense, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,205.  
    He pleaded guilty on May 22, 2017, to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
    The defendant was in possession of four wax folds of heroin in Franklin on April 13.
    Melissa Maher, 30, of Matamoras, Pa., was sentenced to three years of probation, She must also follow all conditions of probation including: continue all current treatment programs, undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, attend a NA/AA support group twice a week, and pay all fines and fees. 
    She pleaded guilty on May 15, to third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance. 
    In March of 2017, the defendant was found to be in possession of Heroin when she turned herself into the Sussex County Sherriff’s Office for an outstanding warrant.
    July 13Carmine Fenison, 20, of Brooklyn with the third degree crimes of unauthorized practice of medicine and surgery or podiatric medicine and attempting to obtain CDS by fraud and the fourth degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
    The case was presented to the grand jury by Assistant Prosecutor Nikoletta Agouras. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next 6 weeks.
    A grand jury indictment is a charge only. The defendant is presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial.
    July 14Jason Reis, 29, of Budd Lake was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with credit for 134 days of time served, and three years of probation consecutive to a Morris County sentence. His driver license was ordered suspended for 10 years. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, submit a DNA sample at his own expense, install Interlock for the duration of his driver license suspension and two years thereafter, pay restitution of $25, and pay fines and fees totaling $2,294.00. 
    He pleaded guilty on June 8, to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime, four counts of Assault by auto, a fourth-degree crime, and diving while intoxicated (third offense) and Leaving the Scene of an accident, both motor vehicle offenses.
    In Hopatcong on Dec. 9, 2016, he struck the rear of a vehicle occupied by three individuals pushing it into a vehicle occupied by a single occupant causing pain to all victims and then left the scene. When his motor vehicle was stopped by Ptl. D. Kern, the defendant was found to be under the influence and in possession of Buprenorphine and Clonazepam.
    Sean Hannigan, 23, of Kinnelon, was sentenced to a year of probation. Hannigan also was ordered to complete a substance abuse evaluation, complete 25 hours community service, pay $1,433.10 in restitution, and pay mandatory fines and fees. 
    Hannigan was found guilty after a trial of one count of simple assault on May 25.
    July 17Eddie Morales, 26, of Vernon was sentenced to a year of probation. Moraels was ordered to enroll in the DECIDE program and pay mandatory fines and fees. 
    Morales pleaded guilty on July 17 to one count of simple assault, a disorderly persons offense. 
    Alexandra Zuber, 24, of Sandyston was sentenced to one year of noncustodial probation. Zuber also was ordered to complete a TASC evaluation and pay mandatory fines and fees. 
    Zuber pleaded guilty on July 17 to one count of failure to turnover CDS to law enforcement, a disorderly persons offense. 
    On Feb. 10, Zuber was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance.   
    Thaddeus Licata, 32, of Andover pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
    Sentencing is presently anticipated for Sept. 8.
