Tiger lillies are invasive

    Your photo on page 11 of the July 13-19 edition is a pretty enough picture, except for those of us who remember that tiger lilies (Hemerocallis fulva) are an aggressive invader species imported from Asia and overwhelming natives.
    That's why they're all over the roadsides, because the native species can't keep up and the invaders have hardy tubers that have to be dug up to get rid of them. Please check with the Native Plant Society of NJ at https://www.nps.gov/plants/alien/pubs/midatlantic/hefu.htm, and please help celebrate our native plants instead.
