Vernon 9u Little League team wins district title

VERNON — The Vernon Little League 9U All Stars defeated High Point by a score of 8-4 to claim the 2017 9U Little League District 20 Championship.
Vernon came out swinging in the first inning with hits by Gavin Bruno, Robbie Labarbera, and Dean Grundy to grab an early 2-0 lead. Gavin Bruno led the team on the mound throwing 5 2/3 innings of shut out baseball while Robbie Labarbera pitched in relief to secure the championship.
