    July 21William E. Nielsen-Dewitt, 36, of Highland Lakes was sentenced to three years of non-custodial probation on condition that he submit to random drug monitoring, obtain a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, complete 100 hours of community service, submit a DNA sample and pay $1,212.00 in court fines and fees. He was given credit for serving 52 days in jail. He pleadd guilty on Oct. 3, 2016, to third-degree Possession of a controlled dangerous substance 
    In May of 2016 the defendant was found to be in possession of Heroin when Vernon Police were serving an arrest warrant on him regarding another matter.
    July 27Tyron Singleton, 28, of Newton was indicted on charges of third-degree crimes of making terroristic threatsf and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and the fourth-degree crime of unlawful possession of a weapon.
    Arraignment before the Superior Couort is scheduled within the next several weeks.
    July 28Kevin Acosta, 21, of Clifton was sentenced to three years of probation with credit for 285 days of time served. He was ordered to pay fines and fees totaling $155.
    He pleaded guilty on June 27, 2017, to attempted criminal trespass, a fourth-degree crime.
    On May 19, 2016, Acosta attempted to enter two homes in Hopatcong.
    July 31Arian Zaku, 18, of Stockholm was setnenced to pay a $100 fine and mandatory fines and fees.
    He pleaded guilty on July 31 to a count of disorderly conduct, a petty disorderly persons offense.
    On April 25, Zaku was arrested for aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
