The Rum Boogie Trio will kick off the the "Thursdays at the Amp" concert series, on Thursday, Aug. 17.

The concert series is sponsored by the Friends of the Sussex-Wantage Library.

The musical styles will range from rhythm and blues to Irish ballads, from acoustic fingerstyle American music to Simon and Garfunkel’s classic harmonies.

The music begins at 6 p.m., and, as always, the concerts are free.

Rum Boogie Trio will perform a mix of rhythm and blues, funk and rock, including the music of Janis Joplin, Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, the Band and more. The group features Jen Sisco on drums, Mike Spoer on bass, and Christian Frentzko on guitar.

"Sounds of Simon and Garfunkel" will play Aug. 24, "Wood Hippie" will play Aug. 31 and Ian Gallaghe will play Thursday, Sept. 7.

Tickets are not necessary for the concerts. Attendees are asked bring your own chairs and blankets. Picnickers are welcome, but alcohol is prohibited.
