SCCC, WCCC partner to offer professional training programs

    Skylands Professional Training, a partnership of Sussex County Community College (SCCC) and Warren County Community College (WCCC) is offering business and professional training programs during the fall semester. The programs are:
    • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) — All students must have a valid driver’s license, and a physical is required. All training will take place in Dover. Admissions is on a rolling basis.
    • Customer Service Training — Topics include: components of communication, active listening skills, questioning techniques, telephone etiquette, professionalism and more. Offered Oct. 10, 11 and 13.
    • Fiber Optics Training – Two courses are being offered for Fiber Optics. A three-day introductory course designed for anyone interested in becoming a Certified Fiber Optic Technician on Oct. 16-18 and two-day (16-hour) advanced program designed to offer specialist fiber optic training to individuals involved in the testing and maintenance of fiber optic networks on Oct. 19-20.
    • ServSafe Manager Certification — A two-day certification course that will provide training to enhance the knowledge of current and prospective foodservice managers in the principles of food sanitation and safety including the Hazard Analysis Critical Point system. The course is offered Sept. 19-20 with a registration deadline of Sept. 6 and Oct. 26 and Nov. 2 with a registration deadline of Oct. 19.
    • Small Business Entrepreneurial Training — Several courses are being offered to assist small businesses with training.
    • Establishing Web Presence for Your Business: Oct. 17 and Oct. 19
    • Building Your Holistic or Earth-Centered Business: Oct. 25
    • Time Management to Increase Productivity: Nov. 2
