    Aug. 25Eric Gessner, 25, of Hopacong was sentenced to three years of probation with a credit for 31 days time served. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, attend AA/NA meetings three times per week, complete 100 hours of community service work, submit to random urine screenings, obtain and maintain employment, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,330. His driver license was ordered suspended for six months.
    He pleaded guilty on June 19 to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime, and receiving stolen property, a disorderly persons offense.
    The defendant received a personal check, knowing it was stolen, on Oct. 25, 2016, in Hopatcong Boro. He also was in possession of three folds of heroin on Feb. 22 in Hopatcong.
    Aug. 28Haider Khan. 20, of Parlin pled guilty to burglary and use of a stolen credit card, both third-degree crimes. Sentencing is anticipated for Oct. 13.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to entering a parked car in Newton and using a stolen credit card to make purchases on May 21.
    The case was investigated by Patrolman Russell Post and Detective Thomas Muller of the Newton Police Department.
    Carlo S. Spina. 53, of Uniondale, N.Y., pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime. 
    Sentencing is presently anticipated for Oct. 13.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to possessing heroin on Sept. 6, 2016, in Hopatcong.
    The case was investigated by Patrolman James Still of the Hopatcong Police Department.
