Vernon honors outstanding athletes

VERNON — The Vernon Township High School Athletics Dept. honored its outstanding athletes for the first week of the fall 2017 season.
Sophomore Caleb Gibson had three goals and one assist in the Vikings 4-0 win over Kittatinny in Varsity Boys Soccer on Sept. 9.
According to Coach Jones, Caleb is a great example of hard work. He never questions anything he is asked to do and he is a silent leader of the team.
Senior Captain Gianna Volsoaney has led the girl’s volleyball team to a 2-0 start this season. During these two wins, Gianna has accumulated six service aces, five kills and seven digs.
Her leadership, play and team-first attitude are reflective in the programs early success so far this season. These traits also demonstrate why she was selected a captain for the second year in a row.
