Stirred by friend's faith amid struggle

I’m sure there are many people who still remember Irene Bjorck. She was a member of the Lafayette Federated Church for years and is known by many, many people. She was also a graduate of Pratt Institute and was a very talented and accomplished artist. Irene’s amazing life is the epitome of how a Christian’s life should be lived.
Irene Bjorck, has touched my life, and I always refer to her as “my forever friend.” She was my mentor and trusted pal. I have been so richly blessed by our long-term friendship.
Years ago Irene moved to California to be near her son and his wife. She is now residing in a nursing facility, which is very close to their home. I was ecstatic when I found out that her son, Dr. Jeffrey Bjorck, a clinical psychologist, published a book about his mother and her journey of faith that perseveres in spite of her severe illness. The name of the book is: “Twilight Meditations: One Woman’s Thoughts of God as Alzheimer’s Advances”. There are many pages of Irene’s art work and quotes throughout this book. I was deeply moved and impressed with this volume, as it is a wonderful tribute from a son to his beloved mother, and it is now available on the Amazon website.
I have definitely been stirred by Irene’s continued trust in God, which has endured in spite of her affliction. I recommend this book to anyone that has been affected by Alzheimer’s disease, as I believe it will offer hope and encouragement to everyone who reads it.
