Mildred Sophie Koetzner (nee Moller), 102 years old, died after a short illness at Troy Hills Center, Parsippany, N.J., on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017. Born to Frederick and Sophie Moller in Jersey City, N.J., she had lived in Little Ferry before moving to the Lake Panorama section of Vernon Twp., NJ in 1977.
Mildred worked as a saleswoman for F.W. Woolworth in Jersey City, N.J. She was a member of the Holy Counselor Lutheran Church, Vernon Twp., NJ and a member of Friends of High Point where she also managed the Nature Center. She took great joy in baking and crocheting and was an avid traveler.
Mildred is predeceased by her husband, Robert G. Koetzner(1987) and her brother, Fred Moller(2015) and is the devoted mother of Robert F. Koetzner and his wife, Nelly of Towaco, N.J., and John W. Koetzner and his wife, Joella of Hopatcong, N.J. Loving grandmother of John and his wife, Angela, Randy, Leann and her husband, Marshall, Danielle and Robert. Dear great grandmother of Tessa and Joseph.
The family will receive their friends at ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be at Holy Counselor Lutheran Church, 68 Sandhill Road, Vernon, N.J., on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Vernon Twp., N.J.
