Vernon honors outstanding athletes

The Vernon Township High School Athletics Dept. has named its outstanding athletes for the second week of the fall 2017 season.
Senior Julia Rogers is undefeated through five matches, playing third singles for the varsity tennis team. She has won her last four matches in straight sets to set the tone for the Varsity team, which is competing for a division title.
According to Coach Miller, Julia plays very smart and consistent. She has been an automatic point for team thus far.
Junior Jeremy Kayhart has been a consistent two-way performer for the varsity football team this season.
In a 16-6 defeat to Jefferson, Jeremy had four tackles and one tackle for a loss. He also had 10 carries for 60 yards and one reception for 20 yards.
According to Coach Tepper, Jeremy is an extremely dedicated Football player who leaves everything on the practice and game field.
