Unbeaten Braves rout Vikings

NEWTON — Newton High School defeated Vernon Township High School, 41-0, on Friday, Sept. 29.
The Newton Braves (4-0) scored all 41 points in the first half. Newton executed it's second shutout of the season.
Quarterback Luke Young threw for four touchdowns and 185 yards for Newton. Jaiden Elliott made three receptions for 109 yards resulting in two touchdowns. William Larsen carried the ball three times for 102 yards and one touchdown. He also caught one touchdown pass. Dante Northe made a reception for one touchdown. Nick Brigante and Noah Sharp scored one rushing touchdown apiece for Newton.
The Newton Braves continue to move along victory lane undefeated while the Vernon Vikings are still seeking their first win of the season.
Vernon fell to 0-4.
It will be a battle of the unbeaten on Friday, Oct. 6, as the unbeaten Newton Braves host the unbeaten Lakeland Regional High School Lancers (4-0) of Wanaque.
