WANTAGE — A contingent of special visitors sojourned to both the Wantage Elementary School and Sussex Middle School this past Friday afternoon, Oct. 6, as invited guests.
Under seasonably sunny skies, representatives from the local fire department and emergency services, New Jersey State Police and Sussex County Sheriff’s Office paraded on both grounds with sirens wailing to the applause and cheers of all students and staff. The officers and members, collectively honored as 1st Responders, had opportunity to greet the appreciative crowd. Prepared bags of “Letters of Gratitude” authored by all the students were individually presented to each representative. This event was the culmination of a multitude of activities the schools commemorated in honor of “Week of Respect”.
