Vernon graduate named Miss Teen NJ

Local Vernon Township High School graduate, Mackenna Wallace recently won the title of National American Miss Teen New Jersey at Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick.
Mackenna Wallace also holds the State Title for Top Model, along with First Runner up for Talent. Mackenna performed a Musical Theatre Solo that she learned at Ziegler Dance Center, she also placed First Runner up in Spokesmodel, Casual Wear, Photogenic, Most Promising Model and Miss. Personality.
Mackenna is preparing to compete for the Title of National American Miss Teen to represent the Nation, which will be held at the Marriott in Anaheim, Calif., the week of Thanksgiving. Mackenna will be joined by Family and Friends to support her in this amazing journey. While competing for the National Title, Mackenna and the other contestants will have the opportunity to tour Disneyland and Hollywood.
Mackenna has had the opportunity to volunteer for the Angels Community Out Reach Organization, where she handed out school supplies to kids in need. Mackenna visited T-Mobile Headquarters and donated to their school supply drive and handed out cookies to the employees.
Mackenna visited the Childrens Speacilized Hospital and volunteered for the girls night. Mackenna helped make cards for women with Breast Cancer. Mackenna recently started her own campaign, #CosmetologyForACause where she will be fundraising for the Lupus Foundation Of America. Mackenna chose this organization as this is close to her heart as her mother was diagnosed with Lupus 5 years ago. Mackenna will be holding her first #CosmetologyForACause Fundraiser on Nov. 4 at the Vernon Township High School from noon until 4 p.m.
Mackenna will be hosting her very own Cut-A-Thon along with the Vernon Cosmetology Students. Haircuts will be $10.00 and 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Lupus Foundation Of America. Mackenna has a passion for Cosmetology and wanted to share this passion with others while making a difference.
