Area podcaster makes live debut

Top iTunes business podcaster Jeremy Ryan Slate of the Create Your Own Life Podcast recently had his first live debut with New York Times bestselling author, James Altucher. For the first time in the two years, Slate hosted a live studio audience for the recording of his show at Standup New York Comedy Club. The iconic New York City club has been a launching off point for for the careers of entertainers including Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Zach Galifianakis and Jon Stewart.
The purpose of the Create Your Own Life podcast is to help people break the chains of ordinary. Slate studied at Oxford University and received his masters degree from Seton Hall University in 2011. Upon graduation, Slate took the next logical step, which was enter into the career he had just spent years of his life working towards. After teaching high school for two years, he was miserable and resigned.
As a serial entrepreneur, Slate has worked through the ropes of uncharted territory. To help mark the path for new entrepreneurs, Slate started the Create Your Own Life Podcast where he interviews world class celebrities, athletes and entrepreneurs on their roads to success.
Altucher is an entrepreneur, investor and Wall Street Journal bestselling author. He is the host of the top-10 rated podcast, “The James Altucher Show” and he is a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo! Finance and Business Insider. He has started 20 companies, 17 of which have failed. Needless to say, he has learned a lot along the way and had much knowledge to impart on the audience.
The show was held on Oct. 7 at Stand Up New York on 236 W 78 Street, New York, NY. The event was well attended; it saw a one hour interview, followed by a question and answer segment and the night was closed out by a comedy show of local comedians.
