State Sen. Steve Oroho has been named Republican Conference Leader for the 2018-19 session.
“I am very excited by the new role," Oroho said. "As Conference Leader, I will to look to strengthen our efforts to make our state more competitive in order to grow our economy and create jobs. This remains a primary focus for me and my Caucus. I will also use the new position to aid my district in whichever way I can. I am certainly honored to be in a leadership position and appreciate the confidence that Senator Kean and my colleagues have shown in me.”
Senate Republicans see a renewed opportunity to advance initiatives that will improve the lives of the people of New Jersey,” said Republican Leader Tom Kean. “We’re focused on addressing New Jersey’s crisis of affordability, creating new opportunities for students and job seekers, and rebuilding trust in government. The Senate Republican leadership team is optimistic that we can help the members of our caucus, and the Legislature as a whole, to effectively address these most pressing challenges. Every Senate Republican is engaged in this endeavor, and they each have the drive and the talent that our state will need to be successful.”
The announcement follows Kean’s selection by the caucus last week to continue serving as Senate Republican Leader for the 218th New Jersey Legislature, which begins in January.
