Marvin 'Pete' Poyer, Jr.

    Marvin “Pete” Poyer, Jr., age 72, passed away on Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at Barn Hill Care Center in Newton. Born in Stillwater to the late Marvin Poyer, Sr. and Elizabeth (Predmore) Poyer, Pete had been a Sussex County resident all of his life. He had been employed by Nelson Tree Service for many years before his retirement. Pete loved to fish in his spare time. He was predeceased by his two brothers, George and Hank Poyer. Pete is survived by his six brothers, Raymond Poyer, Clinton Poyer, Gary Poyer, and John Poyer all of Hackettstown, Elmer Poyer of Oxford, and James Poyer of Virginia; his two sisters, Helen Quarter of Hackettstown and Betty Jane Wallace of Pennsylvania; and his aunt, Betty Kent of Wantage. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Monday prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home.
