Lusscroft Farm to host open house

| 27 Nov 2017 | 01:10

The public is invited on Dec. 2 and 3 to celebrate the holiday season at historic Lusscroft Farm in Wantage.
The farm offers the entire family an opportunity to visit the decorated historic buildings, enjoy live music, carriage rides, baked goods, vendors, gingerbread contest exhibit, gift shop, historic displays and more. For a $5 admission per adult (children are free), it's a bargain — and the funds go toward the restoration of this old farm. This year, three buildings will be open: the Manor House, the "Christmas Cottage" Manager's Home, and the Carriage House.
    Hours on Dec. 2 are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Dec. 3 they are 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Live performances both days will take place in front of the fireplace in the Manor House. Saturday's live performances start with the Skylands Dulcimer Ensemble from
11 a.m. until 2 p.m.; followed by Dennison Froehner and his acoustic guitar from 2-4 p.m. On Sunday, at 11 a.m., Francis Fraser-Smith will enthrall children and adults with her performance of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, followed by Tom Sharkey and friends with Songs for the Holidays (sing-a-long) at noon.
At 1 p.m., Jim Bangman's Dulcimer Duo will perform lovely holiday music.
