High Point routed in ice hockey opener

Hopewell Valley Central High School defeated High Point-Wallkill Valley (Sussex County, N.J.) in varsity ice hockey on Saturday, Nov. 25. The final score was 7-0.

The season-opening game took place at Skylands Ice World in Stockholm, New Jersey.

Ethan Block and Chandler Habig each scored two goals for Hopewell Valley. Teammates Colin Hayward had one goal with two assists, Sean Amon and Vann Adrian-Hage each contributed a goal with an assist, and Nick Vagott and Trent Demers each contributed two assists apiece for Hopewell Valley.

Hopewell goalkeeper Harry Meredith blocked 14 shots.

High Point-Wallkill Valley goalkeeper Tai Ruvo blocked 35 shots.
