Vernon’s First Turkey Trot was a great success.

It was a chilly morning, but we had a fantastic turnout and are looking forward to a new annual tradition in Vernon! Kelly Weller, along with all of the members of the Vernon Board of Recreation, organized the event. The Vernon Running Club, the Vernon PAL, Vernon Police, as well as to all of the sponsors and donators who helped make this day happen! It was wonderful to see so many families come out on Thanksgiving morning – some cheering their runner on as well as many of running together.

The event raised $3011.50 to be donated to the Harvest House in Sussex. The number of people they help grows each day and they are in dire need of assistance to continue their mission and services.
