The Center for Prevention and Counseling is proud to announce a new Board of Directors appointment to Cecelia T. Clayton.

Cecelia is an excellent addition to the agency’s already dynamic Board and was recently welcomed by Center for Prevention and Counseling’s Board of Directors and agency staff to this new position.

Cecelia Clayton has proven to be a well-established change maker in communities she has served. She is the valued Director of Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice and holds a Master’s in Public Health. Her professional achievements include an original six segment production video series for television broadcast featuring interviews with the professional community. Cecelia created and presents the Grief Lecture Series in area hospitals and churches and at the Joseph T. Quinlan Bereavement Center.

She serves on several boards including the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization which she recently completed a 7-year term on their Board of Directors. She is a current member of the Hampton Rotary and has served on the Board of Directors of K.E.E.P., and the Sussex County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Advisory Board. Cecelia lives in Newton, NJ and has three grown children and four grandchildren.

“With Cecelia’s input, we are very excited and inspired to successfully move our communities forward alongside each other continuing the work we do in Sussex County.” stated Becky Carlson, Executive Director, Center for Prevention and Counseling. The mission of the Center for Prevention and Counseling is to promote health, hope and recovery among all people by fostering a community in which individuals and families thrive. Over the past 44 years, this active and vibrant nonprofit agency has served Sussex County with quality programs and services that change lives. The Board and its staff work with and within the community helping youth gain skills to make wise choices, to help parents create strong families, to support those in recovery from substance use disorder and to help build communities that support healthy lifestyles.
