VERNON — Matthew Shull, son of Thomas Shull and Trudy Randall of Vernon, was sworn in to the rank of Major in the United States Air Force on Nov. 5, 2017. Matthew, a graduate of Vernon Township High School and William Paterson University, joined the Air Force after completing ROTC training at NJIT in 2006. Currently he is stationed at Shriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In addition to his military accomplishments, Matthew recently represented the USA in a Karate Demonstration in Okinawa, Japan, and competed as a member of the USA Skydiving team in Dubai, UAE.
