Joseph Frank Stollar, 71, of Vernon, NJ died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2017.
Joe was born in 1946 and lived as a child and young adult in Lincoln Park, N.J. He served in the Air Force before moving northward to Wantage and eventually landed in Vernon. Joe was self-employed as a contractor most of his life and took pride in the quality of craftsmanship whether it was siding a house or building a deck. His passions were everything that had to do with nature. He was right at home in the woods or tending to his garden and playing with his kitties. He had a passion for turkey calling and won the state championships for several years. He enjoyed the sport so much he chartered hunters and called the turkeys in for them. Many knew him as “Turkey Joe”.
With a kind heart and a huge sense of humor, Joe will be missed by his two girls, Lisa Bollard of Wayne, his grandson Michael. and Tina Buzzell of Lincoln Park, his granddaughter, Caitlyn and grandson George. He is survived by his former wife Kris Dann (nee Pfeifer) and many nieces and nephews.
Private services were under the direction of Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, N.Y. For further information or to send an online condolence, see www.lsvpmemorialhome.com.
