Westys Gymnastics brought in the first snow of the season with their Frozen themed gymnastics invitational Dec. 9-10, 2017 .
The minerals resort at Crystal Springs was the perfect setting. Everything was decorated beautifully and we had surprise visits from Olaf as well as a few Santa Claus sightings. When it started to snow, it made the competition even more magical for all of the competitors.
Westys National USAIGC team shined once again dominating both the Bronze & Silver divisions with scores that are unheard of this early in the season .All team members have already qualified for Regionals in Wildwood and are planning to finish the season at Nationals in Florida.
The following Westys Gymnasts took over the top of the podium: Moya Lynch of Wantage took first place in the Bronze 8-9 division with an all around score of 34.50. Hailey Jenkins of Lafayette took first place in in Bronze 6-7 division with an all around score of 33.70. Olivia Fisher of Hamburg took first place in the Silver 9-11 division with an all around score of 35.15. Samie Copley of Vernon took second place in the Silver 9-11 division with an all around score of 34.85. Lexi Ingoglia of Lake Hopatcong took third place in the Silver division with an all around score of 34.10.
The new GAP gymnastics program had more than 65 participating gymnasts from Gym Inc in Kenvil , Flyers in Hammonton as well as Westys in Hardyston. The class students learn entry level routines and compete against themselves to achieve a score ranging from 1st-6th place. They have the opportunity to participate in 3-4 local events each year, with hopes of improving their score each time. Westys had 20 girls competing in this division and scored well with their new found confidence .
Westys Gymnastics was so proud to also include one of our gym shows where all class students are invited to participate and show off what they have been learning in class. They also get to experience what it is like being called to the top of the podiumto receive an award.
