Bronx man arrested in Vernon

A Bronx man faces drug charges after Vernon Townshipo police were notified by Warwick, N.Y., police that they were attempting to stop a small sedan heading into the townshiop.
Carlos Victorero, 26, was charged with theft, eluding, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said Officer John Gales was on patrol and responded to the area where he located the Hyundai traveling south on Route 94 and proceed onto County Route 515 with a Warwick police car attempting to pull it over. Gales observed the license plate and radioed it into Vernon Police Dispatch. The vehicle license plate inquiry came back as reported stolen out of the Bronx. Gales proceeded south on County Route 515 with Warwick Police and attempted to pull the Hyundai over. The Hyundai stopped on County Route 515 at the State Hwy 23 intersection in Hardyston Twp. It was later determined the vehicle had run out of gas.
Ofc. Gales took the driver, later identified as Victorero, and taken into custody and he was arrested without incident.
Victorero was transported to Vernon Township Police Headquarters where he was charged with theft, eluding, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mr. Victorero was processed and served with his charges, then transported to the Sussex County Jail.
The owner of the Hyundai was contacted and the vehicle was returned.
