NAMI, Family Partners plans happiness workshop

| 09 Jan 2018 | 12:22

    The Sussex County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Family Partners of Morris/Sussex will offer a free “Wholebeing Happiness Workshop,” facilitated by Annie Glynn, a positive psychology practitioner and Wholebeing Institute (WBI) authorized facilitator of this workshop.
    The workshop consists of two sessions and will be held at Family Partners of Morris & Sussex, 67 Spring Street, Newton, NJ on Saturday, Jan. 20, and Saturday, Jan. 27, from 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
    The workshop helps participants to deliberately shape their lives toward their ideal selves - - the aspirational view of the best version of themselves. Using tools from positive psychology, behavioral science and neuroscience, participants learn to identify, cultivate and engage their strengths as a daily program. Positive Psychology is the scientific study of the strengths that enable individuals and communities to thrive.
    The workshop helps participants:
    Engage and focus their attention, using it to strengthen relationships and enhance their appreciation for life;
    Practice the SPIRE approach to expand their capacity for, and perspective of, wholebeing happiness;
    Experience the power of storytelling and re-storying to understand and live from a strengths-based perspective; and
    Develop key aspects of their ideal self, exploring how that vision can enrich their daily actions, simplify choices, and lead to greater levels of flourishing.
    Annie Glynn is passionate about helping others utilize positive psychology tools to lead flourishing lives, through workshops and coaching sessions. She holds a Certificate in Positive Psychology and has completed courses in Positive Psychology Coaching and Teaching for Transformation, through WBI.
    The workshop is limited to 20 participants. Advance registration is required by Wed. Jan. 17, through Eventbrite at https://namisussexjan18.eventbrite.com. Brunch will be provided. For further information, call 973-214-0632 or email nami.sussex@gmail.com.
