Artist to discuss his madcap methods at free library lecture

MILFORD — Peters Valley School of Craft will present a free lecture in Milford by madcap artist Ricky Boscarino, creator of the famed Luna Parc in Sandyston, N.J.
Boscarino is a multi-media artist, working in metal, wood, ceramic, glass, and cement. Luna Parc, his private home and studio, sprawls over six acres in the lush woods of Sandyston, N.J., a work in progress since 1989.
He will take the audience on a visual journey of his life at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Pike County Public Library, 119 East Harford St., Milford. The program is part of the library's new Artist Lecture Series.
Born in Paterson, N.J., into an artistic family, Boscarino continued the family tradition in the arts. He received a bachelor's in fine arts from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1982 and completed one year in the New York University Graduate Film School. In 1989 he purchased the house and property that is now a museum and sculpture park.
In 2015, along with a board of directors, Boscarino founded the Luna Parc Atelier Foundation, which will host interns and visiting artists at Luna Parc. His mission is to inspire young artists and facilitate creativity.
